2015 Domäne Wachau Riesling Terrassen Federspiel
Domäne Wachau
Grapes from different small terraced vineyard plots were carefully hand-picked for this wine. The majority of the grapes come from the vineyards surrounding Spitz, Dürnstein and Weissenkirchen. This Riesling Federspiel reflects the unique climate and primary rock soils of the Wachau Valley.
Federspiel wines have a maximum alcohol content of 12.5%. Chaptalisation is strictly forbidden. The name Federspiel is derived from falconry which was a very popular leisure time activity among the nobility in medieval times. The falcon stands for the remarkable elegance of these dry white wines. Federspiel® is a registered trademark of Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus e.V.
Tasting Notes
Fresh, clear straw yellow with green reflections; present and pronounced on the nose, ripe aromas of apricot and delicate citrus fruit, hints of exotic fruit; stone fruit aromas on the palate with an elegant structure; fresh, crisp and balanced by the dense fruit; long finish.

Another study in citrus: bergamot peel mixes with fragrant citrus foliage on the nose. The palate brings further harmony with notes of orange and tangerine. The juicy freshness is utterly mouthwatering. The dry, slender palate is seriously playful and playfully serious. Only Riesling can achieve this. Utter joy and supreme refreshment.
