2014 Emmerich Knoll Riesling Pfaffenberg Kabinett
Emmerich Knoll
Riesling grown on the south-facing Pfaffenberg vineyard in Kremstal. The site lies on gneiss-based primary rock and an altitude of 280-350m. The planting density is between 5,000 and 6,000 vines per hectare with an average vine age of 20 years. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and given some skin contact. Vinification takes place with cultured and natural yeast in tank and wooden casks with a capacity of 500 to 5,000 litres. The wine spends three months on lees, without bâtonnage.

Lusciously juicy but piquantly pit-tinged white peach is laced with bright, fresh lemon and stony and iodine-like nuances in a terrifically animated and ringingly prolonged finish.
