2013 Franz Hirtzberger Riesling Setzberg Smaragd
Franz Hirtzberger
Setzberg is situated 300m above sea level and therefore the highest in altitude of the Hirtzberger vineyards. The soil type is pure gneiss. Its location at the entrance to the Spitzer trench means that the vineyard's mesoclimate is influence by the chilly north winds that blow through it.

Gourmet Traveller WINE
95 points
Excellent precision and persistence of well-focused acid line and fragrant lime fruit with notes of white peach richness and lingering exotic spice.
Wine Spectator
91 points
Mouthfilling richness defines this richly spiced white, which features notes of candied ginger to the apple tart, peach and pear sauce flavors. Pastry details linger on the finish. Drink now through 2019.
