2018 Pierre Amadieu Cairanne 'Les Hautes Rives'
Pierre Amadieu
60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah. Bordered by the cliffs of blue marl and fine Miocene sands that overlook the river Aygues, the vines of Les Hautes Rives enjoy a hillside terroir at 200m altitude, covered with light marl and pebbles.
Handpicked and simply vinified in stainless steel vats and concrete tanks in order to keep all its original fruitiness and elegance. Fermentation for 14 days with pumping over. Ageing in tanks only.
Charming and full-flavoured, this red Cairanne offers a smooth combination of balance and freshness.

Often overlooked in the Amadieu lineup, the 2018 Cairanne les Hautes Rives is another terrific value. A blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah, it offers up dark, earthy scents reminiscent of black cherries, plums and cola, while being full-bodied, round and generous on the palate, with a supple, slightly velvety finish.
