2013 Pierre Amadieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘La Paillousse’
Pierre Amadieu
Grenache-driven blend with 15% of Mourvèdre. Pierre Amadieu plays for finesse here but as always you have the power and persistence of the terroir. Soil covered with large flat pebbles allows the vines to take root and to benefit at night from the heat soaked up by the pebbles during the day. This cuvée, selected by Pierre Amadieu, is harvested by hand in October. The wine is made following the methods traditionally used for this famous appellation and is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

A fresh, floral-edged style, with pretty violet and bergamot notes leading the way for a core of red currant, cherry and damson plum fruit flavors. A light shiso leaf hint lines the finish. Drink now through 2020.
