2018 Scorpo Noirien Pinot Noir
Scorpo
The fruit is grown on the Merricks North vineyard. The Pinot Noir grapes (all MV6) were handpicked on 14th March 2018 and given a three-day cold soak before natural-yeast fermentation with 10% whole clusters included. The wine was pressed out on 9th April. The wine was matured in concrete tanks and old oak barrels. Suitable for vegans.
A prime example of Mornington Peninsula Pinot, grown by one of the areas most precise viticulturists. Cherry, hints of spice and subtle mushroom elements on the nose give way to rich red berries - raspberries, cranberries and cherries. Tones of amaro follow and lead to a cleansing finish. A cool, composed wine with definition and length.

5% new oak and terrific to drink. As fresh and it is silken, as seamless as it is delicious. If you drink this immediately you’re missing out on nothing, such is its polished drinkability, but it has both complexity and structure on its side too and so should mature well into at least the medium term. Bravo. Price and quality are spot on.
