2019 Scorpo Noirien Pinot Noir
Scorpo
The fruit is grown on the Merricks North vineyard. The Pinot Noir grapes (all MV6) were handpicked on 14th March 2018 and given a three-day cold soak before natural-yeast fermentation with 10% whole clusters included. The wine was matured in concrete tanks and old oak barrels. Suitable for vegans.

Contract-grown, destemmed, wild-fermented, matured in French oak (5% new) for 11 months. Bright crimson-purple, it is full of highly spiced red fruits that brook no argument, so best enjoy it with food.

Ripe cherry, earth and brown spices. It’s juicy and fit to burst with sweet cherry flavour, tempered by wide grained tannin and dried herb flavour, a slight ‘mineral’ feel to the acidity, and a cherry pip finish of good length. It’ll be better with a bit more bottle age to tame the youthful bounciness of fruit, but the makings are good.
