*MASTERCLASS IS FULLY BOOKED BUT PLENTY OF SPACE FOR THE TASTING*

This is a great opportunity to get across all things Austria – a corner of the wine world rightly recognised as one of the most exciting right now, with red wines right in the slot for Australia’s climate and culture, as well as those glorious aromatic whites from Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Gemischter Satz.
CellarHand’s really proud to be deeply involved with this initiative from the Austrian Wine Marketing Board in cooperation with the Austrian Trade Commission, Advantage Austria Sydney – and incorporating wines from a range of Aussie importers, including Enoteca Sydney, Imbibo, Vinous, Vintage and Vine, Lo-Fi Wines and World Wine Estates.
We’re excited to welcome Willi Klinger, managing director of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, to conduct a series of masterclasses throughout Australia. The masterclass (now fully booked) will focus on Austria’s most revered grape, Grüner Veltliner, with a great vertical from the Wachau, Kremstal and Kamptal.
This will run alongside a general trade tasting involving all importers of Austrian wine – a one-off opportunity to see the largest line-up of high-quality wines from all over the country. To give a sense of the range on offer, CellarHand alone will be showing sparkling, white, rosé and red wines from the Wachau, Kremstal, Kamptal, Weinviertel and Burgenland. Grapes range from the Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and the mixed plantings of Gemischter Satz, plus Blaufränkisch, Sankt Laurent and Rotburger. Producers include Prager, F.X. Pichler, Franz Hirtzberger, Emmerich Knoll, Domäne Wachau, Stift Göttweig, Bründlmayer, Groiss, Pittnauer, Rosi Schuster and Moric.
