2019 marks CellarHand’s 20th Anniversary, and we’re delighted to be bringing the celebration to Adelaide. We’re coming with a collective of our top European producers for a tasting on Thursday, 14th February at Melt CBD.
Visiting and pouring their wines will be Benjamin Vitrac of Jacquesson, a Champagne grower that at the apex of its region – a trailblazer in some respects, with wines of stunning definition and originality. Then there’s Erni Loosen of Dr Loosen in the Mosel – a Riesling legend who needs no further introduction! – and fellow rizza ambassador Frédéric Blanck of Domaine Paul Blanck in Alsace. Freddy’s fellow Frenchman Dominique Piron of Beaujolais will show his clean, mineral Gamay wines. Claudia Cigliuti of under-the-radar Barbaresco jewel Cigliuti is making her first trip down under, as is Zorik Gharibian of Zorah, bringing international renown to the ancient varieties of Armenia with his high-altitude, old-vine wines. And last, certainly not least, is Gerhard Pittnauer, Austria’s biodynamic champion of silky, delicious wines from indigenous red grapes, who also has the nous and natural flair to pull off its most convincing and engrossing skinsy and sulphur-free wines.
They’ll be pouring their top cuvées – think premier cru, grand cru, Grosses Gewächs, cru Barbaresco and other top single-vineyard wines. You get the idea!
