To kick things off on City Wine Shop‘s tasting calendar for 2017, the team there are hosting an informal stand-up event in conjunction with respected wine writer Max Allen and Kim Chalmers, showcasing the diverse range of Italian varieties coming from Kim’s family vineyard in Heathcote. As well as producing expressions under their family label, there are many other winemakers who purchase fruit from the Chalmers and make their own interpretations.
Hence the idea of getting as many of these wines together to compare and contrast the different winemaking philosophies. There will be wines on show from some of City Wine Shop’s favourite producers, including:

And there’ll also be some of the makers on hand to give their take. A little spread of house-cured meats and cheese from next door will be on hand to keep tasters focused.
