Teresa Breuer portrait by Elizabeth ClancyWhat better way to celebrate the southern hemisphere’s Summer of Riesling than an event that combines Rheingau royalty with a great Aussie barbie? Join Theresa Breuer of Weingut Georg Breuer as she shows the latest wines from this great German estate.
The Breuer family was a spearhead in the move towards fine, dry German Riesling and counts among its holdings the grand cru sites of Berg Roseneck, Berg Rottland and Berg Schlossberg in its hometown of Rüdesheim, as well as the Nonnenberg monopole in nearby Rauenthal.
“We are pleased to see that this family-owned estate in Rüdesheim, with its long tradition, has in recent years not only maintained its quality, but has lately – certainly in the case of the dry, site-specific Riesling wines – even further improved the quality,” was the verdict of the 2015 edition of the Gault & Millau German Wine Guide.
See what all the fuss is about in the superb surroundings of Milton Wine Shop on Monday 1st February 2016. The masterclass kicks off at 6:30 for 7pm and will focus on the top crus of Roseneck, Schlossberg and Nonnenberg. Tickets are $70 and can be purchased in store at Milton Wine Shop or by calling the guys there on (03) 9824 5337.
