2013 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese
Dönnhoff
This site directly by the river is exclusively owned by the Dönnhoff estate. It features ancient rock with clay slate bedrock, covered by a layer of loess loam and has a perfect microclimate for great noble sweet Riesling wines. The vines are between 25 and 35 years old and yield rought 45hl/ha. 100% selective hand harvest. The musts are fermented and the wines matured in stainless steel vats. This is a Riesling with spicy ripeness and intense fruit. It's very complex with a wonderful balance between ripe fruit sweetness and classy acidity.

The 2013 Oberhauser Brucke Spatlese is very clear, precise, herbal and mineral on the nose with lemon and pineapple aromas. Juicy, piquant and elegant on the palate this is a rich, sweet and salty, stimulating Riesling with a sensual fruitiness and a piquant length. Lovely to drink now and over the next 20 years.
