Gemischter Satz is a wine from different grape varieties that are grown together in one single vineyard. The grapes grow together, they are harvested and also processed together. It´s the most traditional way of planting in Austria. Among our varieties in the Gemischter Satz are Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau, Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Grauburgunder, Pinot Blanc, Frühroter Veltliner, Neuburger, Zierfandler, Rotgipfler, Sämling, Roter Veltliner, Grauer Vöslauer, Hietl Rote, Weiße Vöslauer and Silberweiße. The vines stand in calcareous conglomerate soils and the grapes are selectively harvested at the end of October by hand in several passes. The fruit has a six-hour maceration on the skins. It is then gently pressed without stems and fermented with vineyard and neutral yeasts. The wine was aged on the full lees in stainless steel tank till bottling in February 2018. Alcohol: 12.5%; RS 3g/L; acidity 6.2g/L. - Ingrid Groiss
