2017 Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Séchets
Louis Michel
From one of the domaine’s old parcels that used to be blended into Vaillons. Kimmeridgian soils on the left bank. Hard limestone on a clay base, relatively deep soil with a browny red appearance. Vines with an average age of 30 years.

The nose here is very finely detailed with wet chalk, limes and white peaches, bending towards more minerally nuances. The palate has a sleek and impressively detailed feel with some very plush and compressed white peaches and lemons on the palate. Drink over the next six years.

Orchard fruit, white flowers, hard candy and tropical notes give the 2017 Chablis Séchets 1er Cru a decidedly exotic personality. Medium in body and super-aromatic, the 2017 has so much to offer. Delicate in feel and yet full of complexity, the 2017 has more than enough appeal to provide readers with fascinating drinking over the next 20 or so years.
