About Mount Mary
“It’s axiomatic that generational change can be good or bad, obvious or discreet. The changes at Mount Mary have been unambiguously good, but fittingly discreet.” – James Halliday
About

2011 Mount Mary Quintet
Mount Mary
49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot. This wine shows classic Quintet aromas and flavours of dark fruits, black olive, liquorice and spice. There is a beautifully layered palate of sweet fruits built around a savoury backbone of tannin and oak derived characters. The acidity, as is the case with many Quintets, provides freshness and a clean finish to the palate. It has persistence of flavour and a noticeable elegance already that will only build with time.

The hue is bright, although not deep - indeed crystal clear; the scented, perfumed red berry bouquet leads into a juicy palate with no green notes, just a touch of mint; it is long and evenly balanced, and will provide much pleasure over the next five or so years, thereafter is in the lap of the gods.
