About Domaine Vico

In 1986, in the midst of major political upheaval Jean-Marc Venturi purchased a magnificent estate in financial difficulty, Domaine Vico, located in the commune of Porte Leccia, in upper Corsica. The original vineyards were planted in 1901 by Jean Vico who wanted to establish a benchmark vineyard in the middle of Corsica. To this day, these 49 hectares in the foothills of the Corsican mountains (with peaks up to 2000 meters) remain the only vineyards in the country that are planted inland, many miles away from the shoreline where the rest of this stunning islands vineyards can be found. Father and son Jean-Marc and Manu work together, focusing on the biodiversity of the terroir. Each and every wine is at once interesting, compelling, delicious, different, but not just for the sake of it. These are historical wines of personality, of pleasure, and wines that remind you once more that just when you thought you knew most things about the magical world of wine, at times, it really can still feel like you are just the beginning of the journey…

About Jean-Marc & Manu Venturi

Jean-Marc Venturi, a pioneer in Corsican viticulture, took over Domaine Vico in 1986 during a particularly challenging period for the local wine industry. With limited resources, he worked tirelessly to revive the vineyard, borrowing funds and working outside the estate to finance its restoration. Over time, Jean-Marc cultivated a vibrant vineyard focussed on native Corsican grape varieties. His son, Manu, grew up immersed in the environment and today father and son run the estate together.
