As a devotee of terroir, Pierre Amadieu loves the specificity of Vinsobres, the northeastern cru of the southern Rhône Valley. Of particular interest are the terraces of Piallats for these soils of clayey-sandy marls on south-facing hillsides 300m up.
In this soil Grenache, although at its northern limit, reaches an optimal maturity and Syrah develops an unusual freshness for this southern region.
Half the wine undergoes ageing in one- and two-year-old oak barrels which lends subtle aromatic expression dominated by notes of red berries (morello cherries, cherries and strawberries).
