Yeringberg
The first Babyberg red is a joyful mix of red varieties from our new vines. Each component was picked and vinified separately and matured in barrels for 11 months. It is a house blend of about 30% Petit Verdot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 20% Shiraz, with a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
A mix of fruit colours – redcurrant, blackberry, blackcurrant, a fair bit of perfume, some tobacco and spice. It’s medium-bodied, kind of nutty and juicy in red and black fruits, that tobacco savoury thing is there again, the tannin has an open weave grainy grip, and it finishes well, fresh but with ample fruit, black olive and some ferrous elements. Nice wine. 92 points. Gary Walsh, The Winefront May 2026
“These are elegant, gently stated wines, not try-hards. To taste them is to believe immediately that they are the faithful, accurate and unadorned expression of the vineyard whence they sprang. Other producers talk the talk about terroir, but their wines don’t always back it up. Yeringberg wines are honest terroir wines without any need to shout about it.” Huon Hooke on The Real Review 2025 Vigneron of the Year
